MQ3 Alcohol Sensor is alcohol detector sensor which is used to detect the alcohol concentration on your breath.This sensor provides an analog resistive output based on alcohol concentration. When the alcohol gas exists, the sensor’s conductivity gets higher along with the gas concentration rising.It is suitable for various applications of detecting alcohol at different concentration.It is widely used in domestic alcohol gas alarm, industrial alcohol gas alarm, and portable alcohol detector.
WORKING PRINCIPLE OF MQ3 Alcohol Sensor :
In the alcohol sensor, the core system is cubical in shape. An Alumina tube cover by SnO2[Tin (IV) Oxide], which is tin dioxide and between them, there is a Gold electrode, the black one. When alcohol molecules in the air meet the electrode that is between alumina and tin dioxide, ethanol burns into acetic then more current produce and basis of that current it determine the alcohol level and generate the analog output.
USE OF SENSOR:
This sensor is used for detecting that alcohol is drunk by the person or not and basis of that automation system which takes the decision.
